Save the Endangered Sea Turtles of Baja California Sur, Mexico

Did you know that seven out of the eight sea turtles in existence throughout the world live and breed throughout the Pacific Coast of Mexico, and all are endangered?

If you are looking for a great cause to participate in or learn more about, check out ASUPMATOMA, a local organization based in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which is dedicated to the protection of the endangered sea turtles in the region and the overall environmental protection of Los Cabos' beaches and communities. Their Web site is www.savetheseaturtles.org.

At ASUPMATOMA's natural preserves located 15 minutes north of Cabo San Lucas, the organization offers programs, tours and activities for students, tourists and members of the general public to learn about the endangered sea turtles and other environmental issues facing the Los Cabos region. Between the months of September and December are the best times to see the sea turtles come ashore.
